An earthquake with a 7.9 magnitude struck the central coast of Peru leaving many without water, power, or means of communication. The earthquake struck on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. local  time 90 miles south of Lima, the country’s capital. Reports indicate that hundreds have died and several thousands have been injured.

Due to this catastrophic event, Lambda Theta Phi has stepped up to work with the American Red Cross and the Peruvian American National Roundtable (PANR) to funnel donations to assist with relief efforts. Lambda Theta Phi pledges to raise $2,000.00 dollars and will mobilize hundreds of brothers across the United States to generously donate toward Peru’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

The Brothers of Lambda Theta Phi are concerned, and our thoughts are with the families and citizens of Peru that have been affected by this tragic event. A donation link Peru’s Earthquake Relief Fund has also been set up through our national website www.Lambda1975.org for anyone wishing to make a monetary donation to assist the people of Peru.
